These terms govern your use of BorealCV (the "Service"). By using this site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What BorealCV is

BorealCV is a free, independent tool that helps you build a resume, cover letter, and federal screening question responses aligned with common Canadian and Quebec hiring practices. BorealCV is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, the Public Service Commission, jobs.gc.ca, or any employer. References to government programs (such as WES, IQAS, MIFI, CLB/NCLC, or WHMIS) are provided for informational purposes and link to the relevant official sources — we do not administer or issue any of these programs.

Not professional advice

The advice, checklists, and sample content provided by BorealCV are general information based on commonly published Canadian hiring and workplace-safety practices, and serve as a starting point — not legal, immigration, employment, or career-counselling advice. Hiring practices vary by employer, industry, and province. For advice specific to your situation (credential recognition, work authorization, or an immigration application), consult a licensed immigration consultant, a lawyer, or contact the relevant government body directly.

Your content

Anything you type into the tool — your resume text, work history, and similar content — belongs to you. As explained in our Privacy Policy, this content is processed locally in your browser and is never transmitted to or stored by us; we therefore hold no license to this content and cannot access, use, or share it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use BorealCV to:

• Misrepresent your identity, skills, or work history in order to deceive an employer or government body;
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its source code beyond what its open, browser-based nature allows;
• Use automated means to bulk-extract the Service's content in a way that degrades its use for other users.

No warranty

BorealCV is provided "as is" and "as available," free of charge, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that a resume, cover letter, or response produced with this tool will lead to an interview, a job offer, a successful application, or the approval of a credential assessment or immigration process. The formatting, ATS compatibility, and Canadian conventions described here are general guidance, not a guarantee of outcome with any particular employer or system.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, BorealCV and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data stored only in your browser (for example, if you clear your browser storage without having exported a copy). Because this is a free tool with no account or server-side backup, we strongly recommend regularly exporting your resume to PDF or Word.

Third-party links

BorealCV links to third-party government and organizational websites (such as Canada.ca, WES, IRCC, or provincial bodies) as sources for the guidance presented in the tool. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, or availability of these external sites.

Advertising

BorealCV does not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced in the future, it will be clearly distinguished from the tool's own content, and we are not responsible for the products, services, or claims of third-party advertisers.

Changes

We may modify these terms or the Service from time to time. Continuing to use BorealCV after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
